Baby Llama!

I went to visit Rocky last night, and ended up spending more time admiring the adorable baby llama that I found in the heated office! It was quite a surprise. I went up there to get warm and wait for the barn lights to fully come on (they take a while), and sleeping on a rug in the bathroom was a llama. He (or she - I didn't check) is SO cool. Of course, my camera battery died as soon as I got it out, so the only pictures I have are on my phone, and I don't know how to put them on my computer without having to pay for 'picture mail'. I have no idea where he came from or why he's up in the office. They do have other llamas there, but I don't know if this is one of their babies or what. From what I can tell, those other llamas are not too friendly, so hopefully this little guy will be a people lover! Maybe he'll just wander around the barn with Taco when it warms up :) I'll try to get some photos soon - maybe this will motivate my to go out and see my horse a little more often. As a reward, I get to play with a cria (that's a baby llama).

Anyway, Rocky is doing fine. It was too cold for me to consider saddling and riding (my fingers were frozen!), so we just went and played in the arena. He seems to really enjoy playing tag. I chase him...he chases me...he gets a treat. Fun (and exercise) for everyone.

Here is a picture of the sweet sign that now hangs on Rocky's stall. It was painted by my friend Alexis' mother, and I've received many compliments on how much it resembles the real Rocky. Since it's been awhile since I've posted any Rocky pictures (or taken any), I added an old one from this summer below - you can judge for yourself.
