Last night, I went out to Meadowbrook thinking that it would be a good time to ride since it was pretty cool out. I don't know if it was the weather or what, but Rocky was the naughtiest he's ever been with me. It sucked. He was acting all nervous and he spooked a few times. He's very mouthy all the time (always grabbing for something to have in his mouth - halter, lead rope, reins, metal bar, it doesn't matter to him) and when we were in the arena, he reached for the reins and when I pulled them away, he got me instead. It was just a little nip on my stomach, but it hurt! And I was mad. So today, I bought a book called "The Horse Behavior Problem Solver" and I am going to try to rid this pony of his bad habit(s).
Also, last weekend my friend Alexis came out to see Rocky and she brought her measuring stick. He is officially 14+ hands (not quite 14.1). We put her nice English saddle on him which looked really cute! Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera that day, but here are some pics from last night.
He was filthy! It doesn't show up real good, but he was caked in mud...

Sounds like you get the same kind of behavior books that us mamas get for our babies too, ha! I still love Taco. Maybe I could ride him first to get up the courage to get on a horse?
