Things are already SO much better with Rocky. I rode him for 2+ hours on Monday and it was wonderful. He gave me a few bucks when I asked him to canter, but then he actually did it! It was such a blast! I had forgotten how much fun it was to cruise around at that pace on horseback. We even went out into the woods for a quick trail ride. No problems there either :)
The girl who has been helping me with Rocky is awesome. Her name is Rachel and she goes to MSU (she's from LaCrosse originally). She worked wonders on my horse in just one day and she'll keep riding him along with some others that need work. We have plans to go on a trail ride this weekend. I'm excited to have someone to ride with!
Tonight I got off work early so I went out to ride (the weather was PERFECT), but I found a couple of nasty sores where the cinch must have been rubbing. Rachel rode him today, but not for real long, so I'm thinking that I'll need to look for another new cinch. I don't really know what to do about these sores, but I figured I shouldn't cinch the saddle over the top of them. So I spent a lot of time just grooming and playing with Rocky instead. I did get to check out his newly trimmed hooves for the 1st time. They look so little and cute. That sounds weird to most people, I'm sure, but they were all chipped and crooked before and now they're perfect.

That bird picture is so cute! I also love the picture of Shari with Moldy's pee pee hangin out too...classic. (I know, his name is Blue now- but he'll always be Moldy to me!)
Ha, I love the birds too! Guess what?! I rode (well, didnt' ride, but got on) a horse today for the first time ever. It was frightening but fun.
What a beautiful horse!
